1. Introduction

Healthcare is a complex field. Every part of our lives has evolved to the point where any aspects, service, or technology must facilitate in taking care of one`s health. These circumstances entail more than selecting the appropriate treatment or intervention for the patient. It also involves conducting medical research or also known as experimental medicine. By definition, medical research explores conducting new studies and clinical trials in a wide variety of science, such as biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology with the objective of eradicating newfound medicines, procedures and improving our well-being and quality of life. However, each decision, from the type of treatment given to a patient might also lead to complications and disputes. One of the arising ethical issues in the medical field is the ongoing progress of navigating discoveries and technologies that open more opportunities for understanding and treating different diseases – posing challenges to the patients, families, healthcare professionals, and society. There is, however, a large number of studies addressing issues of using illegal medications in treating diseases. Consequently, this research will provide a broad overview of the ethical concerns associated with the regulation of using illegal drugs for medication.

2. Recent findings of literature show that the use of illicit drugs could help manage to treat mental-related disorders.

3. The implementation of the 21^st Century Cures Act, in addressing critical issues involving leadership and accountability for behavioral health disorders at the federal level
   1. In the month of December 2016, A bill was signed into law. Pertaining to the importance of evidence-based programs and prevention of mental and substance use disorders and the imperative in coordinating the efforts of the government. 
   2. The Cures Act codified the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality (CBHSQ), as the federal government leady agency for behavioral health statistics.
      1. The bill established the Interdepartmental Serious Mental Illness Coordinating Committee (ISMICC) to guarantee improved coordination throughout the federal government in addressing the needs of people with major mental illness or serious emotional problems, as well as their families.

6. Opinion and Conclusion
   1. There has been a huge debate regarding the legalization of illegal drugs across the world, considering the fact that ethics has been an inseparable part of clinical medicine.
   2. However, despite these shortcomings. The government should be challenged in contemplating the legalization of drugs, solely for the sake of the community who use drugs under medical supervision. And, as well as to maintain a balanced equilibrium between conducting noninvasive and respectful research.
