Persuasive Speech Rubric

The Persuasive Speech is worth eighty-five (85) points. This 6-9 minute speech is your opportunity to persuade your audience to act because a problem exists and their assistance in rectifying it is needed. VISUAL AIDS MUST BE USED.  Must also have AT LEAST 6 CITED MATERIALS (3 FROM DATABASES). The topic MUST be cleared with the instructor before the presentation because all topics that involve hate speech or playing devil’s advocate are not allowed.  The speech focuses on some “action” that the audience needs to take to remedy a problem.  You will need to (1) follow Problem Cause Solution persuasive format, (2) turn in a written outline worth twenty-five (15) points total, and (3) receive a more in-depth critique from your classmates worth five (5) points.
