Allegations of sexual misconduct have been heavily reported in the news in the past few years.  Political figures, Hollywood actors and directors, corporate CEOs, news reporters, and even Massage Envy franchises have all faced accusations, scrutiny and repercussions.  If you type the phrase sexual misconduct in an internet search engine, many articles and opinion pieces will show up.  Another topic of interest is the #metoo campaign.   The hashtag is an ongoing social media campaign to post accounts of sexual harassment and assault.

More people are coming forward sharing their stories and accounts.  Opinions vary on these accounts.  The topic of sexual harassment and misconduct is a complex issue to discuss.   Is the predator to blame? the victim? was it assault? was it consensual?  was it a false accusation?  What about when several people come forward with similar stories about the same person?   Is it an idea that pursuing one’s sexual imperatives take precedence over workplace rules, lines of power or even just appropriate social behavior is what allows predators to justify sexual harassment and assault?  These are just a few of the thoughts and comments when discussing sexual misconduct.
