During module 2 you understood what career success means to you. Now that you have completed the course, would you change your response? If so, what is your new definition of career success and why? If not, why not?
To answer this question,it is important to note that career is a very important thing in one's life. Whatever career path you choose to follow, it will impact your life greatly. Your career will define your status in a society in addition to your lifestyle.Previously, you could have thought career success meant a good pay,promotion and recognition.Well,now that you have completed the course ,it is most probably that you are going to change your response.Right now your career success could be more about the quality of your life and having lifestyle choice. You can measure the success of your career based on your financial stability, good health, quality relationships and your ability to maintain any lifestyle you want. What you could have learnt from module is that success is about setting career goals that feel true to who we are, not what we have been conditioned to think success is or what others expect of us.
Question 2
During Module 5's Researching the Labour Market, you identified a series of skills that you may need to develop to keep up with the changing labour market. What future skills do you think you will need to develop, and what will you do to keep up with these changes in skill demands?
To answer this question,it is important to note that most countries are experiencing shortage of skills due to the ever changing labor market.According to a future jobs report from the World Economic Forum,just five years from now, more than one-third of the skills we believe are essential for today's workforce will have changed.Therefore,it is important to identify a series of skills that you may need to develop to keep up with the changing labor market.The future skills you can develop to keep up with the changing labor market may include the following;
1).Leadership skills
The traits you often associate with leadership are inspiring and help others become their best versions of the future needs of the workforce. Although today's typical corporate picture is not as prevalent, people play leadership roles in project teams or work with other employees to address problems and develop solutions.
2).Cultural intelligence and diversity skills
As the labor market is constantly changing, it is vital that you have the skills to respect and understand as well as work with others regardless of their culture, race, age, language, gender, political religious sexual orientation, or because of their religion differences. The ability to understand and adapt to others who might have different ways of perceiving the world will not only improve how people interact within the company but is also likely to make a company's products and services more inclusive and successful.
3).Critical thinking skills
An individual with analytical skills can develop innovative solutions and ideas, solve complex problems using reasoning and logic, and evaluate arguments. The first step in critical thinking is to analyze the flow of information from different resources. After the observation, someone who is a strong analytical thinker relies on logical thinking rather than emotions, gathers the pros and cons of the situation, and is open to the best possible solution. People with strong analytical thinking have to control the division of labor between the human and machine.
4).Problem solving skills
Due to the changing nurture of the labor market,there will be a couple of problems related to technology,management and the general corporate governance. It is very important that you develop problem solving skills that will assist you deal with the issues related to the labor market.

The journey to success in college begins with one step of identifying your personal values. Your personal values are your core beliefs and guiding principles. They shape the roles you play in your daily life. They color your interests and emotions and frame your thoughts and words. In short, your values are a compass that helps you make decisions and choices.As your definition of success changes, so do your personal values. This is why keeping in touch with your values is a lifelong exercise. You should continuously revisit this, especially if you start to feel disturbed and you can't quite figure out why. Therefore , following some of the examples and their relevance importance in your career.
1).Generosity
Being generous carries lifetime value because it becomes part of your lifetime reputation. And you never know when that reputation might come in handy, nor who your future employer, partner, or client might be.Generosity allows you to invest more genuinely in relationships, which themselves will prove valuable to you down the line. Plus, a healthy reputation will, over time, win you more success and business than any aggressive sales tactic ever could.
2).Kindness
Being kind often requires courage and strength, as it involves the willingness to celebrate and give attention to someone else. Every
act of kindness do change how we view ourselves and others, as well as how others see us. We usually feel more empathetic, assertive, valuable, and in control when our kindness positively affects others. In addition, we also find ourselves feeling more optimistic and appreciative. Moreover, there is nothing as rewarding as giving back to others. Kindness and being generous can change the world as one small act of compassion can make a significant impact on someone's life, including your own.
3).Openness
If you score highly on openness, you are likely to prefer new, exciting situations. You value knowledge, and friends , family or colleagues are likely to describe you as curious and intellectual.
4).Intuition
No matter how the information comes to you, when applied, the outcome is usually positive, since it usually helps you to move forward faster, helps you solve a problem or keeps you from making a mistake. Intuition is like reading and it is a value that can be develop through time.
5).self discipline
Self-discipline is the ability to focus intently on a task or goal with the purpose of achieving a certain result. Much like other qualities that might contribute to your overall success, self-discipline is one that produces sustainable success over time. It is also an important requirement for studying and learning, for developing any skill, and for success in self improvement, spiritual growth and meditation.
