Development Aggression in Indigenous people in Philippines:

Development aggression refers to a situation where the natives of the economy are subjected to violence   and forced deprivation of their fundamental rights thereby leading to severe aggression being enforced upon them by unlawful forces who take advantage of the victims’ vulnerable socio economic condition.

In the given scenario, the vested commercial interests of a group of powerful entrepreneurial class, have used their power inhumanly and broken civil rights of the many innocent people especially economically vulnerable classes by forcibly alienating them from their property and grabbing lands for their own capitalistic exploitative business ventures. Many people had to forgo their lands and move out else where in search of livelihood due to the brutality of the powerful rich class .

The topic is challenging since it highlights the heinous trade off that involves between the thirst to develop and the community interests at large. The clash of the profit seeking capitalist class and their attempt to monopolise the ownership of community resources in order to serve their own personal goals of profit making and market domination.    

However, it is this risk taking entrepreneurial class that is the accelerator of economic growth of a nation, channelising its savings into investment opportunities and demanding factor resources for production and selling leading to higher employment and income opportunities. While the businessmen actively seek productive efficiency and aim for low costs of production, they are not concerned about welfare and grossly neglect community welfare . Hence learners are at a dilemma about the ethical reasoning involved in the business decisions where community is subjected to severe violence and the common interests are cruelly subdued for the sake of monetary benefits that accrue to one particular section of the society.

Migration of Filipinos:

Migration means moving away from the native place in search of better employment opportunities. Many Filipinos have migrated either internally within their country or to other countries like USA, Middle east and so on in search of better income and jobs. Other reasons for Filipino migration could be non financial yet important aspects like unstable law and order conditions in native places where the residents are subjected to inhuman domination by the rich business class and hence are forced to flee in order to protect their lives as well as the lives of their family members. The migration has led to a depletion of work force both skilled as well as unskilled, as Filipinos work in both skilled jobs as well as domestic helps in various countries across the world. The migration has brought in higher income to the families of such workers and has had a positive impact on the standards of living of these families.

The dilemma for the learners of migration concept would be to understand the underlying trade-off is that the drain of workforce and human capital from the domestic economy will prove to be a depletion of human resource for Philippines own economic development. The foreign remittances and the in flow of foreign incomes will be an advantage to improve the factor income of Philippines yet the human migration , if happening to outside the country is not a positive sign for internal growth of the economy.
