As we know that, Liberalism is a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise. Liberalism in Turkey was introduced by Murad V. the 33rd emperor of the Ottoman empire. This was the most powerful dynasty in Turkey.

We know that, Murad. V was highly influnced by the French culture and was highly liberal person. He wants to establish a democracy based on equal rights and liberties. Liberalism was introduced during the Tanzimat period of reformation. Murad wanted to modernise Turkey by promoting development, liberal values and progress.

We know that lot of changes were made to improve civil liberties, inspite of it many Muslims saw them as foreign influence on the world of Islam. That perception complicated reformist efforts made by the state. A policy called Ottomanism was meant to unite all the different peoples living in Ottoman territories, "Muslim and non-Muslim, Turkish and Greek, Armenian and Jewish, Kurd and Arab.
