FED con trolls the fluctuations in the economy through its policies. It implements various policies which influence the money supply and aims to sustainer economic growth. Legislative mandate can make these policies stronger but to some extent. FED does not need legislative mandate as it can control the money supply in the economy by its policies. It is the most important function of FED to identify the cause of economic fluctuation and provide the solution to control the economy.
