Here is a signal . It contains noise and one hidden component. Your task is to separate this data into its components using Matlab. 1. Read the mystery signal, above, into Matlab. You can assume that the data was sampled with a sampling frequency of 20 kHz. 2. Using a single figure with two subplots, plot o the mystery signal and o the magnitude of its FFT. 3. 5eparate the data into meaningful subcomponents using FIR filters in Matlab. 4. For your final version of each subcomponent, do the following o plot the filtered signal and o the magnitude of its FFT so that they can be meaningfully compared with the plots for the original signal. o plot the amplitude and phase response of the filter used to filter the data 5. In a single paragraph, describe the process you used to hunt for the components of the mystery signal. Include numerical values to illustrate the process. Include 2-3 illustrative plots. 6. Include your Matlab code 
• look up the syntax of the load.' command and examples in the documentation • To save, either right click on the signal and save, or copy the contents to Notepad and save as a text file. Remember that saving the data to the same folder as the .m file makes it straightforward to load the data to Matlab (without specifying the complete path in the program). • The data is in the form of a matrix. The second column is the interesting one to analyze. You need to extract the second column and use it as the signal for the remainder of the questions. Look at the tutorials in the Course Text tab if you need a refresher. • You do not need to write one filter that does everything! You can use multiple filters. You can use a different filter to produce each plot You can also use a filter cascade, which means using the output of one filter as the input of another filter... Try different things. This is what goes into item .5 above. • When you find the hidden component, you'll know. It is very distinct. You should have two separated signals at the end.
