Management

For this assignment, you will use the ag law current news story that you are assigned to analyze and improve upon the work you did in Part 2 of the Ag Law Current Event Assignment. Please incorporate any feedback from your Part 2 assignment.

Submit the following in one document, no more than 1,000 words (.doc or .rtf):

In Part 3, you have an opportunity to be the judge and write a legal written opinion deciding the “case” in your assigned agricultural legal conflict. You have been reading judicial opinions all quarter in the form of cases that we briefed for homework and discussed in class. You have seen many different writing styles, but they all include the basic elements of a brief that you have already identified in Step 2 of this assignment.

In this final step of the assignment, you will take the basic components of the brief you created in Step 2 and turn them into one piece of writing. Full paragraphs and proper writing style are required. Use some of your favorite opinions from this class as a model: opinions that you have read that are clear, logical, concise, but fully convey the necessary steps to resolving the legal conflict.

Note that you are applying a hypothetical resolution to an evolving legal conflict. You should not look for an existing legal resolution of this particular conflict and are not expected to do legal research. You should apply the legal tools that we have learned in this class and incorporate them into your discussion as if they are “precedent” for this case, if possible.

Your opinion should be no more than 1000 words, submitted as one document (.doc or .rtf). You do not need to resubmit your Step 2 document. Any revisions you make to your brief should simply be incorporated into your final judicial opinion here as Step 3.

See the evaluation rubric below. Compare your work to the standards and revise as necessary.

Turnitin: Plagiarism Check

This assignment will be checked against multiple sources for original content using Turnitin. A report will be generated that shows if content in this paper matches content in documents available on the Internet, in print journals, and a database of other papers submitted by students. You will be able to see the results of the originality check. If you have a yellow or red flag (>25% non-original material), you should revise your paper and resubmit immediately to avoid consequences to your grade or academic integrity.

When submitting your assignment, you must agree to the terms and conditions of the originality check: Your paper will be added to the student database for comparison of future OSU papers against it. You maintain ownership of the original intellectual property created in this paper. You also understand that results of this report may be used by the University in student conduct proceedings related to academic dishonesty.
