eHealth technology encompasses spanning wide variety of tools, including social media, mobile technology, and telehealth. With the right technology tools, consumers can be empowered and more engaged in their own health and health care. The article you read this module, Future of Health Care  (Links to an external site.)identifies various devices and applications that showcase how healthcare is facilitated through mobile tools.

This assignment focuses on exploring these various types of technology; how the consumer interacts with these state of the art devices, how health care practitioners and facilities use these devices, and the promises and challenges of the new technology.

In this paper, you will select one service or product from the article. You will describe and assess this service or product in a 4-6 page double spaced APA formatted paper.

You will first need to conduct some research. If you need assistance searching for source materials, please refer to the HSC445 Excelsior Library Assignment Tip Sheet.

• Using the Excelsior Library, locate at least two current, credible, peer reviewed articles to support your paper. 
• In addition to the 2 required articles, locate at least two current professional organization articles. 
• You will also need to incorporate a minimum of two course readings, including your textbook and telemedicine article.

Once you have located and reviewed your sources, please write your paper, addressing all the following bullet points. 

• Briefly describe the eHealth technology that you have chosen and explain why you chose it.  
• Identify the target population(s) for this product or service.
• Explain how consumers, health professionals, and other stakeholders utilize this technology. 
• Describe the various types of data and information being collected to facilitate the service or use of the product. Be sure to address types of information being collected that might be only tangentially related to the direct use of the service or product.   
• Provide an analysis of two legal and/or ethical issues in using this service or product.  
• Analyze the accessibility of this technology. In your critique, describe which groups have easy access and which groups may be less able to access this technology. 
• Provide one recommendation for improving this technology. Your recommendation may address a legal or ethical issue, open up access to a group, better meet the health needs of a target group, increase quality or cost effectiveness, etc. 
• Close by sharing whether you would recommend your chosen eHealth technology. State who you would recommend this technology for, and why.

The paper should be 4–6 double spaced pages, not including the title and reference pages. Follow APA formatting guidelines (Links to an external site.).

It is imperative that you support your statements, particularly your recommendations, with your course readings and your chosen peer reviewed articles and professional journal articles.

Compose your work in a .doc or .docx file type using a word processor (such as Microsoft Word, etc.) and save it frequently to your computer. For those assignments that are not written essays and require uploading images or PowerPoint slides, please follow uploading guidelines provided by your instructor.

Check your work and correct any spelling or grammatical errors. When you are ready to submit your work, click “Upload Submission.”  Enter the submission title and then click on “Select a file to upload.” Browse your computer, and select your file. Click “Open” and verify the correct file name has appeared next to Submission File. Click on “Continue.”  Confirm submission is correct and then click on “Accept Submission & Save.”

These three papers together are worth a total of 70% of your overall grade.

CO#4: Identify opportunities and challenges in the use of current and evolving information technologies, for planning, implementing, and evaluating health services.
