Module 5 DQ 1

I believe that three great catalysts to enable innovation were mentioned in our textbook in a previous chapter. Creating time and space employee's lives for reflection, ideation, and experimentation, maximizing the diversity of thinking, and fostering connection and conversation which can serve as the foundation for breakthrough ideas (Skarzynski & Gibson, 2008). I know that within my organization we are all about the work that has to be done here and now. They need to be more encouraging and receptive to employee's ideas. As I have mentioned before, all we have right now is a cardboard box and scraps of paper for our ideas. We need people or even a person to talk to on a regular basis about ideas and improvements that we feel are necessary to make our organization better. As employees we need to feel that there is someone that cares about us and our ideas. I also believe that our organization could learn a lot from other organizations. I feel that other organizations are doing a better job of creating a place that promotes innovation on all levels. I hope to take what I have learned to the management at my organization and propose what I have learned in order to make a change within.

Module 5 DQ 2

The innovation that group three decided on was the Homeschooling App by District. This home-schooling app will serve the kids, parents, teachers, and district employees. The product/service that we created has the power to dramatically reset customer service by being user-friendly. The expectations for the app is high due to being a homework tracker as well as an app that is easily read and lets the students and their parent see the progression of the students. Each district will have their district wide information and the way the apps will be used. The impact it will have is that everyone involved will be able to see results, changes in a student’s information without having to go to the schools. The information will be read from the app.
