Data acquisition is the process of absorbing and storing new information, the success of which is often measured by how well the information can be recalled later (back in memory). The process of storing and obtaining information depends largely on the representation and organization of information. In addition, the use of information can also be influenced by the way information is structured. For example, the bus schedule can be represented in the form of a map or timeline. On the other hand, the timetable provides quick and easy access to the arrival of each bus, but it does little to locate a particular stop. On the other hand, the map provides a detailed description of the location of each bus stop, but it cannot be easily linked to bus schedules. Both methods of representation are useful, but it is important to choose the right presentation for the work being done. Fitch recommends "cheating", and expand your spinner with additional viewing lines to keep your audience engaged.
