e The term paper will make up 25% of your final grade
e Topic of Paper - Your Choice...you have an interest in the Criminal
Justice System of the United States, and this is due to an
experience? Family Member? Job Aspiration? Etc... | want you to tell
me what it is and conduct research to back up your findings about the
particular topic. (For Example, | have had students write papers about
the death penalty, pros and cons, as well as Smoking Rights,
Discrimination against minorities, Police Integrity, etc...) | look
forward to reading your papers.
e Due Dates:
The research paper itself will be due on December 5, 2020 (Midnight). This
paper will be 25% of your final grade. You should have no problem with the
writing requirements of the paper and the format. PLAGIARISM WILL NOT
BE TOLERATED!
POLICY FOR THE RESEARCH PAPER-
All documentation for the Research Paper MUSTconform to either the
“Documentation Style Sheet”, (a copy of which may be obtained by the
student from the Main Desk in the College Library), APA(American
Psychological Association) or the “MLA Handbook for Writers of Research
Papers”, (a copy of which can be purchased at the College
Bookstore). STUDENTS WILL LOSE POINTS IF THE RESEARCH
PAPER DOES NOT CONFORM WITH ONE OF THE ABOVE
DOCUMENTATION METHODS. ALL RESEARCH PAPERS MUST BE
SUBMITTED VIA SAFEASSIGN. ALL RESEARCH PAPERS MUST BE
IN 12 FONT, TIMES NEW ROMAN, AN HAVE A TITLE PAGE AND A
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY, DOUBLE SPACED. YOU CANNOT
EMAIL ME YOUR PAPER.
Late papers will be penalized as follows; Papers submitted on the due date
during the official class will receive full credit. Papers turned in one day after
the due date will be penalized 20 points. Papers turned in two days after the due
date will be penalized 40 points. Papers submitted later than two days following
the due date will not be accepted and will receive a grade of zero.
e Papers will be graded on spelling, punctuation, grammar,
organization of material, development of topic, research and works
cited, and appropriate length. | have attached a grading sheet
outlines the complete term paper grade. This grading sheet will be
detached from this packet and included with your Term paper. The
Term paper will be graded and returned to each student prior to the
final exam.
