The e-mail Jeb sent a few days before the meeting just alluded to a team meeting to discuss items relevant to the team’s progress. Several other students play the roles of the team members, not all of whom see much value in the team structure. Conduct this role-play for about eight minutes. Observers rate the role players on two dimensions, using a 1-to-5 scale from very poor (1) to very good (5). One dimension is “effective use of human relations techniques.” Focus onhow well Jeb implements effective techniqes of team leadership, development, and charisma. The second dimension is “acting ability.” A few observers might voluntarily provide feedback to the role players in terms of sharing their ratings and observations. The course instructor might also provide feedback.
