GETTING STARTED

Open the file SC_PPT19_EOM3-1_FirstLastName_1.pptx, available for download from the SAM website.

Save the file as SC_PPT19_EOM3-1_FirstLastName_2.pptx by changing the “1” to a “2”.

If you do not see the .pptx file extension in the Save As dialog box, do not type it. The program will add the file extension for you automatically.

To complete this SAM Project, you will also need to download and save the following data files from the SAM website onto your computer:

Support_PPT19_EOM3-1_ArtVideo.mp4

Support_PPT19_EOM3-1_Rings.jpg

With the file SC_PPT19_EOM3-1_FirstLastName_2.pptx still open, ensure that your first and last name is displayed in the presenter notes on Slide 1.

If the presenter notes do not display your name, delete the file and download a new copy from the SAM website.

PROJECT STEPS

You work in the planning department for the community of Parnell Island in Washington State and need to add and edit pictures to a presentation on public art policy for the town council. Begin by setting the sharpness of the sunset picture on the title slide to 50%.

On the title slide, convert the text "Public Art Policy" to a WordArt object using the Fill: Dark Red, Accent color 2; Outline, Dark Red, Accent color 2 WordArt style.

On Slide 2 ("Overview"), insert the picture file Support_PPT19_EOM3-1_Rings.jpg. Change the height of the picture to 4.0". Apply the Bevel Rectangle picture style. Change the Color Tone of the picture to Temperature: 8800 K. Position the picture to the right of the text. Crop the picture so that only the right ring is featured as shown in Figure 1.

On Slide 4 ("Why Public Art?"), delete the shape containing the text "Enhance Livability." Move the picture containing the text "Honor Artists" so that it appears evenly placed between the picture containing the text "Celebrate Heritage" and the picture containing the text "Promote Tourism". Align the three shapes so that the tops are level with each other.

On Slide 9 ("Enhance the Beauty of the Island"), use the content placeholder to insert the video file Support_PPT19_EOM3-1_ArtVideo.mp4. Apply the Snip Diagonal Corner, White video style.

On Slide 10, insert WordArt using the text Questions? and the Fill: Dark Red, Accent color 2; Outline: Dark Red, Accent color 2 WordArt style. Apply the Wave: Down Transform effect to the WordArt object [Mac hint - The Transform effect will appear as Wave 1 for Mac users)]. Change the 3-D Rotation effect to Perspective: Right. Increase the width of the WordArt object to 7.0". Position the WordArt object in the upper-left part of the slide above the horizon line as shown in Figure 2.
