4. Do Black lives matter? Why or why not? (5 points)
3. What are your feelings about the below report?
In my opinion I believe that the report was about educating the population on what was deemed "justifiable" by a judge. The report provided statistics and facts on how the killings committed by whites and hispanics directed towards blacks are all mostly deemed "justifiable" in court. After reading this article and actually understanding numbers in such a short report I strongly believe this is something that everyone should read and sit and UNDERSTAND. It is important that the numbers are understood because it is important for everyone who is fighting for change in the justice system to understand that it is wrong that when white and hispanics kill a black man or woman the court finds is more justifiable than when a black man or woman kill within their own ethnic group. It is as if they were prejudged.
4. Do Black lives matter? Why or why not?
Of course black lives matter in my opinion. However, in the opinion of this report, the courts, jury, and judges who deemed some of these killings "justifiable" they do not. Black lives matter because every life is someones mother, father, sister, brother, etc... Everyone deserves to live and tell their story and no ones life should be taken at the hand of another man. Black lives matter because we are all one and we should all love one another. Black lives matter because the black community is strong and resilient and they deserve every bit of respect that any other ethnicity receives. This should never be questioned and it is extremely sad that after so much pain and suffering that black people have lived through, they are still having to justify their life based on the color of their skin. With there being so much talk this year about the great Black Lives Matter movement I stand with them and I stand for justice for them all. We ALL make mistakes and it is disturbing that we still have to fight for the rights of someone who made this country.
