Within a math or ELA lesson, how could both types of strategies be used? Describe a student task and describe where a direct strategy might be used and where an indirect strategy might be used. Be sure to be specific in the strategy you would use.

Here is an example. A class is learning to write an opinion paper. A direct strategy would be a shared writing in which the teacher is modeling the process of justifying an opinion. An indirect strategy would be for the students to work in cooperative groups and brainstorm and research possible justifications for a given opinion.
