Accepting the null hypothesis indicates that one has shown an effect does not exist. Failing to reject the null suggests that the sample did not offer enough proof to conclude that the effect exists. However, simultaneously, that absence of proof does not show that the effect does not exist…slightly confusing. A null hypothesis is usually the complement of an alternative hypothesis. In a business framework, a hypothesis test could offer a way to explain how an increase in employment influences production. Therefore, hypothesis testing provides a way to look at the correlation between two or more variables in a projection report.
