A number of policies and schemes have been started by the Fijian government. Some of them have been very successful. Like:

• Government has paid unemployment benefits to people who have lost their jobs because of COVID. More than one lakh people have been benefited from this scheme.
• Foundation for rural integrated enterprises and development and civil society organisations alliance have come together to open a help center for families affected by COVID in Navakai and Nadi. A huge number of families have been provided food, counselling and other assistance by this help center.
• Allocation for the health sector from the budget has increased to 3.5%. This has to improve the health conditions of the people who have been affected by COVID.
• Another initiative taken by the government is to allow 26 yachts to enter the economy. This has led to investment of more than $1million in the economy.
• People whose salaries have been reduced to upto 50% due to COVID will also receive lump sum benefit amount by the government. More than 25000 people have been benefited by this scheme.

There are many such policies like these which have been started by the Fijian government and led to the benefit of people of that economy.
