Chemistry

2NO(g) → N2(g) + O2(g), ?Hrxn = -181 kJ/mol Several catalytic methods have been established for the removal of NO, including the Pd/Al2O3 catalyst. Experiments indicate that passing exhaust gases over the Pd/Al2O3 solid mixture at 150-300°C results in complete decomposition of NO and formation of N2 and O2. In a certain experiment, a 100. g sample of an exhaust gas with 0.80% NO by mass was passed over the surface of the Pd/Al2O3 catalyst and the temperature of the gas increased from 248oC to 296oC.

Calculate the specific heat capacity of the exhaust gas (in J g-1 oC-1) based on the above results assuming that the catalyst absorbed negligible amount of heat.
