Overview For this assignment, your professor will provide a specific matter* that previously occurred for you to research and present. When conducting your presentation, consider the following: Your audience will be a panel of interested stakeholders (e.g., Board of Directors). The audience will understand the business, but not the risks associated with fraudulent behavior. Allow time for questions from the interested stakeholders. All members of your team must present an element of your presentation. *Your professor will assign one of the following matters to each team: Enron (2001) As a team, create a PowerPoint presentation (limited to not more than 10 minutes) that addresses the following topics, based on your assigned matter: Introduce the specific allegations of the assigned matter including how this matter was discovered. Based upon what you’ve learned during this course, describe the type of fraud and the impact of the fraud triangle. What public disclosures did the company make regarding the original allegation as well as any public disclosures during the investigation or at the conclusion? Describe the impact (i.e., financial or other) on the business including, but not limited to, any civil or criminal penalties. How was the matter concluded by the government? What procedures could a company put in place in order to reduce the risk of this type of fraud occurring in the future? As a potential shareholder, how would the resolution of this matter impact your perception of the company?
