How has your work environment changed over the past five years due to the increasing focus on groups/teams?

Companies have recognized that creativity, cooperation, and productivity is fostered when employees are put in a team. There is a common goal amongst employees working towards a better goal as a whole, which is very motivating. The work environment subsequently became more holistic, where employees care about each other and cooperate better and produce better work.

In what ways have you found the change to teams difficult?

Individuals who are used to working on their own might have found the transition difficult since they are used to working in a certain way, and old habits are hard to break. They had to adapt to reaching a consensus with the group, when in the past they had no one to consult with except for themselves.

What are some of the responsibilities that team members need to assume in a work setting?

Responsibilities include making sure that all individual work is done in advance before the groups meet in order to increase productivity, and so that all team members are on the same plane. As well, if one team member is lagging, the group should help out this member for the better of the team.
