Objective: You will be creating a Google Slides presentation or PowerPoint researching and explaining the key aspects of 1950s culture in the United States.

1.  The class website you’ll be using to choose your topics from is The 1950s: American Pop Culture History (retrowaste.com)

2.  Topics include 1950’s cars, movies, TV shows, toys, music, sports and fashion. You can pick and choose what topics you want to focus on in each category, but you must put at least 1 element from each.

3. As your top highlight, your job will be to describe ONE preferred choice in detailed format. For example, if you choose movies, highlight the top five movies of the 50’s and explain what the movies were about, how much they made in the box office, their effect on the movies of today, etc. All choices must be school appropriate. Be creative, be insightful, and have fun!

4.) Share the finished presentation with me and upload into Canvas.

 

Rubric:

60 points (10 points per topic): Student’s project has at least 1 slide for each of the 7 categories, analyzing their historical significance to the era. (1950’s cars, movies, TV shows, toys, music, sports and fashion)

50 points: Student’s project features 1 of those categories in detail, analyzing their historical significance (at least 5 slides)

20 points: Student’s work is creative and includes pictures

20 points: Student’s work is well-written and contains few to no grammar errors.

Total: 150 points total
