Use your own name as the company name. Set-up can be checked in ‘company preferences’. Your assessor will provide you with an opening Trial Balance of at least twenty lines. Using a Table in Microsoft Word prepare a Chart of Accounts (COA) to best reflect the nominal accounts required by the Trial Balance. In the new company you should create any new nominal accounts required, including at least two of the following - Debtors’ control, Creditors’ control, Bank account, Petty Cash and a minimum of two accounts not included in the standard Sage COA. Enter the opening Trial Balance as a nominal journal using the suspense account where relevant. Once completed print a copy of your Trial Balance and a detailed Audit Trail. Prepare a short report outlining some of the advantages to your organisation of using Integrated Accounting Systems and also noting any Data Protection issues potentially involved (approx. 400 words). Requirements 1. Company preferences section of Sage 50 includes all relevant information. 2. Chart of Accounts is clear, precise and provides a suitable base for generation of necessary reports. 3. Printed Trial Balance is accurate and agrees in all aspects with original Trial Balance supplied. 4. Audit Trail includes all entries, shows correct set-up of new nominal accounts and correct use of suspense accounts. 5. Accompanying Report includes commentary on the following elements: a. Appropriate advantages of IAS in the workplace. b. Data protection measures taken or recommended. 6. Accompanying report presented, typed, in either bullet-point or prose format (approx. 400 words). The data can be income, expenses or capital but must include at least ten items and cover a minimum of three accounting periods. 1. On your spreadsheet carry out the following tasks: a. Sort the information in the columns in a manner that in your opinion visually improves the presentation e.g. descending value. b.
