Drawing on the learning covered within the module, you will be required to write a 2,000 word essay on: 
Understanding systems, and the impact of illness and environment on these systems 
The assignment will be in two parts. 
Part one -1,000 words 
Describe the function of two of the systems in the body (for example, cells, the urinary system, the digestive system). 
Part two - 1,000 words 
Discuss the impact of either: 
a long-term condition such as COPD, Diabetes, MS, Covid-19, Parkinson's, etc. on the systems in the body 
or an environmental factor such as smoking, alcohol misuse, substance misuse, obesity on the systems in the body. 
This is an academic piece of work, and you are expected to support your discussions with literature and resources. Therefore, you will also need to provide a reference list using the UoG Harvard Referencing convention. 
4. Assessment criteria 
This type of examination will enable assessment across the module learning outcomes to ensure you have a broad and detailed understanding of the core concepts in anatomy and physiology.
