Last week, you had the opportunity to create an educational planning and placement checklist of factors to consider when planning an educational program and placement for a student with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The emphasis for this week’s learning will be on the different characteristics of learners as well as investigating the possible health care needs and medical considerations of learners. Respond to the following in a minimum of 175 words:

• What are some possible health care needs and medical considerations that a special education teacher should be prepared for? Do you have any reservations about meeting these needs?
• Describe the current laws and policies related to the provision of specialized health care in an educational setting.
