1. In one sentence, what is the research question being asked?
2. What topic from class does this question belong to ? 
3. Details. Tell me why you are asking this question, where did the question come from (i.e., hole in research, personal experience), and why you are interested in this topic ?
4. Identify the key variables of interest 
5. Is this a correlational study, experiment, field, or what ?
6. Now for the most important part of the assignment: tell me what study/experiment you would do to answer this question. Begin with telling me what type of data you believe would answer the question and then present me with an outline for how you would answer the question ?
