Laws and regulations are the essential factors that curb every participant in an economy in a regulated manner, which bring about justice and equality. However, monopolies tend to oppress the consumers and the employees whereby doing so, equality and justice to them is taken for granted. The United States department of justice is against monopolies due to the harm they cause to the citizen of U.S which is a breach of justice. The harms caused by monopolies include:

• output restriction. Monopolies do solely deal with a given product in the market. Output restriction occurs when monopoly agrees to limit the volume of a product or a service in a market. They do so either to hike prices or to prevent prices from falling for them to exploit the consumer in their favor.
• consumer choice restriction. In a monopolistic market, they exist no substitute products for those being produced by a monopoly. The consumer is restricted to only one product and is limited to choices dependent on the quality and prices of the products and services.
