When I discuss this topic with family members or people who are unfamiliar with disability management, I often hear responses of how our generation has become too soft, no one wants to work, and that there are over considerations with disability leaves and claims. I think that this attitude relates to the traditional medical model of disability as this is what was used for a period of time. How would you combat attitudes such as these as a disability management professional in situations where supervisors or managers have this traditional view point?
