Comment on the values extracted for the I-V characteristics, including making and discussing the following comparisons (3 marks): • Extracted ideality factor for recombination-limited or diffusion-limited behaviour • Extracted ideality factor, series resistance and saturation current for devices of different material. • Extracted ideality factor for devices of different application (LED vs standard silicon PIN). • Comment and compare with literature values. Include a discussion of the experimental error. Additional research component (3 marks): Present a case study of a PIN diode application including what is the best material/doping etc. Make sure to properly reference sources used. Note that this component of the report should be a maximum of one page.
