 An organization is influenced by both internal and external factors.  Regardless of what the factors are, it has to find its ways of surviving in the market. The rules of success or guidelines on what an organization can do to prosper are found outside an organization. This is because the outside environment whereby an organization carries out its operations is very much beyond the organization’s control. The success of a firm is determined by the market acceptability and how it relates to the buyers and consumers.  The services or products that a company offers should be of good features, unique, and of good quality (Distanont & Khongmalai, 2018). Consumers get to know an organization through its good service and reliability. Ensuring the good quality of a product and finding out what is special about an organization occurs inside an organization, and this is what is referred to as competitive advantage. What makes an organization unique from its competitors has to happen from the inside. An organization has to work towards its competitive advantages but has no control over its success. Demographics, cultural value, economic conditions, and other outside factors influence the success of a business. The resources, capabilities, and competencies of an organization define its competitive advantage.  The challenge is identifying and investing in factors that give the highest capability of acquiring a truly competitive strategy.
