Create and show us a fictitious social media post (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, blog) in the discussion board that violates the HIPAA privacy standard by using one or more of the 18 patient identifiers.

• Make the post meaningful by including a purpose (i.e., the post could be a request for help from colleagues on what clinical action needs to be taken, sharing a meaningful clinical experience with family and friends).
• Following the example, discuss which identifiers were included and how the post might be changed to comply with the HIPAA privacy standard.
• Identify whether the revised post would still achieve its purpose without the patient identifiers.
• Finally, state a case where a patient identifier needs to be shared. Is there a way of doing so without violating HIPAA or provisions in HIPAA that afford for such identifiers to be used?
