It lowers the rate of critical development projects to be initiated and those in progress. Economies of various countries also begin to weaken due to the unavailability of new resources.

Donating nations supporting Syrian refugees have raised various concerns. Annual lengthy multisided war is one of the major concerns. It has also risked Syria to donor fatigue. Trump has also raised concern over the value of the aid provided to Syria to humanitarian assistance (Baczynska & Emmott, 2018). The West also said that money donated to facilitate Assad into peace talks was in vain. It vouched to focus only on humanitarian assistance and not on the reconstruction of Syria in a condition that Assad shares no power with the opposition.
