As addressed in Chapter 4 of Thriving at Trident University, higher-level thinking (or critical thinking) involves making connections between what you’re trying to learn and what you already know. Critical thinking requires two distinctively different processes: active engagement and reflection. In this assignment, you will be asked to actively read Chapter 4 and read through the Critical Thinking Skills section of Lumen Learning.

1. Read the following section on Critical Thinking in the Lumen website: https://courses.lumenlearning.com/lumencollegesuccessxtraining3/chapter/critical-thinking-skills/
2. Visit the Quia Critical Thinking Quiz page and click on Start Now (you don’t need to enter your name). Select the best answer for each question, and then click on Submit Answers. A score of 70 percent or better on this quiz is considered passing.
3. Consider your score and answer the questions below.

After watching the video on critical thinking and reading Chapter 4 in Thriving at Trident University, answer the following questions.

1. Based on your quiz results, do you feel you use good critical-thinking strategies? If Yes, explain using examples of why you feel this way. If No, how might you improve as a critical thinker?
2. Choose three forms of higher-level thinking from Chapter 4 (pg. 57) that you can employ to use daily. Each form should include 4 or 5 sentences discussing how you can implement it as you progress through your program at Trident. Utilize information from the chapter as well to support your opinion.
