A policy statement is a brief policy recommendation written in the form of an executive summary. The target audience for each is the Trump Administration. Each statement will be one page, single space, with three paragraphs. The first paragraph will summarize the situation being addressed by the policy. The focus here should be on the history of the issue and previous efforts to address it. The second paragraph will state how the situation relates to the national interest of the United States. The focus should be on establishing the importance of the issue, why should the US act on this issue given how many other issues there are demanding attention. The third paragraph should be your policy recommendation.  What action should be taken to promote US interests on this issue. Be as specific as possible.
