Thank you for your very detailed and thorough response. While reading about all of the benefits from exercising, I began to think. We as nurses are very acitve, walking lots, lifting/turning/pushing/pulling patients, and yes at times running. I wonder if a study was ever done to see if nurses are at a lower risk for health diseases due to our daily work activity? I work in a long term care facility and many of the residents will commnet to me that I walk alot, and my answer to them is, yes I do and it's great because I do not need to join a gym--they alway laugh after that response. I have heard that some big corporations encourage exercise and are even opening gyms in the buidling to encourage and keep their employees healthy. Healthy employees are more productive employees.
