In assigned groups of four, you will peruse the HCC library databases for an article of interest that you will decide upon and dissect as a group. As you will be looking most closely at definition, cause and effect, and proposals/solutions, pay close attention to the argument within. Feel free to use any of the databases including the Global Issues and the Opposing Viewpoints databases. 

Once you have decided upon an article (it should not be more than three pages), every member of your group should read it. Print out a copy for me to read as well. Then proceed to discuss how you see the topic in terms of its argument, eg. causes and effects, definition etc. Is the argument well constructed, persuasive, well documented with research? Is another argument taking place simultaneously? Definition? Fact etc.?

Your group will give a presentation on your findings including diagramming the various causes and effects. Be sure to give everyone an opportunity to present his/her ideas  (that means for everyone to speak equally when presenting).
