A new product development is required to address a market need. The need assessment is made and the functional requirement of the product is presented:

Task details:

• Using the above functional/Design requirement, Propose minimum of 3 concepts. The concepts can be presented using sketches/rough 3D models and so forth
• Based on their working principle, select the one with the better concept and justify your nomination.
• Model geometry of the concept approximately as a form of development in detail design stage by only incorporating major components.
• Select a critical component from the model and conduct static stress analyses on FEM (Comsol).
• For the critical component, assuming a light and stiff or light and strong beam model as objective, select a material for the component by undergoing through the material selection procedure. You are free to choose constraints, free variables.
