The intro's function is to provide a brief overview of the essay, helping the tutor set expectations about what she/he will read next. The central part of the essay should consist of a set of arguments, in relation to each other, that lead to providing the final point of view. The conclusion should contain your own opinion (based on the arguments developed in the central part and refer back to the question). Make sure that when reading it, tutors can see that it does answer the main question posed by the essay. 2.Please show good knowledge, be clearly structured, evaluative, and show awareness of research and regulation where appropriate 3.I have already provided many class materials, and please read the relevant slides and articles first, which marked with M- mandatory. Others are all supplementary, you may find it helpful. Requirements for Essay1 1.The chapter2 of the textbook and slides talk a lot about the theoretical framework of corporate governance, and please emphasize the theories mentioned in the class, especially the agency theory and stakeholder theory. Please use recent academic essays as a reference to critically evaluate the recent development of these theories underlie the development of corporate governance, cause it is required to show the evidence of reading around and original research 2.Please use the recent example of notable corporate failures to critically evaluate the opinion made in the essay. You should refer to financial media like FT. The authors also gave us some articles to read each week, you can see that in the file. 3.The textbook is Mallin, C. (2018) Corporate Governance. [BibliU version] 6th ed. Oxford, OUP Oxford., if you do not have access to that, please let me know. Requirements for Essay2 1.Please read the slides of this part carefully, and you have to show good knowledge of CSR 2.Please do some own reading as a reference to critically evaluate the statement and show the proof of my own research and critical thinking. I have already uploaded the recommended essays, you can use that or use others. Requirement for the report 1.The report should be divided into several logical sections, and please do not just answer the example questions listed in the coursework in order. (Just make sure it is in the proper form of reports and think of yourself as an independent consultant but make sure you answer all the 14 questions and one if you have) 2.Please read the 2018 UK Corporate Governance Code and the 2 relevant slides carefully in order to correctly evaluate whether the composition of the board complies with the best practice. (this is very important!!!) 3. You are required to download and analyze the most recent Corporate Governance Report of the company you have selected from the list and the report is available on the company corporate website from the Appendix, and please compare the current governance practices of the firm with those adopted in prior years, or with reference to the company's strategy (usually discussed in the Strategic Report) and/or with other companies in the same industry Table, appendix, and graphs should be used to complement your critical analysis in the text, and the word should be concise 4.I have already uploaded an example analysis of M&S, please carefully read that which is very important. 5.When doing the case, think about the business and the market and the strategy of the firm, for example, contextualize, and this is an important part of the critical assessment of the board composition of this company. 6.Again, please make sure you know the 2018 UK Corporate Code well and that is the source to judge the best practice.
