Instructions

Visit the US EPA website at www.epa.gov and type in your zip code in the search function dialog box. If you do not live in the US choose a state here and use that zip code.

Spend a few minutes reviewing the page (MyMaps, MyAir, MyWater, MyHealth…..)

1. Now look at the listings for “MyLand”.  Are there any proposed, final, or deleted NPL sites in your zip code? If so, how many?  If there are none present, try 11231 and report what you find (hint it's a canal).

2. Download and open Google Earth. Using the distance tool, measure the straight-line distance from the Superfund Site (where it terminates) to the main NYU Campus (Washington Square Arch). This assignment is intended to teach you how to use Google Earth and its functions. Report the distance in miles.
