Observe yourself as you interact with others. Do you tend to talk more or listen? Do you require complete explanations or can you derive meaning from the context. Keep in mind that this aspect of communication is affected not only by culture but by personality preference as well.

Then, observe the nonverbal communication (gestures, silence, rate, posture, eye contact, and more) that you use. Look at the behavior of others. What does this say about you? How do you interpret the nonverbal behaviors of others? How do you react to these nonverbal behaviors?
