What is imperialism regarding economics?

Imperialism refers to the process of extending power through political influence. Economic imperialism is a scenario whereby a ruling government has more power than other rulers. An example of imperialism is when the USA's government took total control of the military and ports in Hawaii State. Imperialism leads to massive production, which leads to economic growth due to the ready market. The primary objectives of imperialism in the economy are to control international trade and produce cheap labor. It also indulges in exploring natural resources that improve that boost the economy. Consequently, prolonged imperialism leads to the exploitation of resources and people.
