What is the imperfect information problem?
The imperfect information problem is the problem of asymmetric information between two parties involving in an economic transaction. In other words, it shows the difference in the market material knowledge between the parties regarding a particular product.
For instance, in the insurance market, the buyer of the insurance policy knows more about his/her health status than the seller of the insurance policy which creates an imperfect information problem in the insurance market.
