Based on what you have learned about the four functions of management and how they are interrelated, share a real world example of where you have seen these functions in action either successfully or unsuccessfully

The four functions of management are planning, organizing, directing and controlling. These functions are interrelated and one is followed by another. Let us consider an example- going on vacation to a hill station. The primary function we have to do is plan where to go, when to go and how to go. Planning provides a framework about how an event is organized. So, we have to plan our trip thoroughly before we start. Firstly thing involved is setting destination, and then schedule the dates.

After finalizing place and date we have to book tickets as well as arrange for accommodation. This comes under organizing.

Directing comes after organizing. It includes implementing the plan by starting the journey.

Once the journey has started we have to manage all the events that happen during the journey and it's called controlling.
