How would you collaborate with managers in other sections to determine future human resources needs?

In order to correctly plan for future workforce needs, Human Resources needs to collaborate with other departments within the organization. Some key ways in which human resources managers may interact with department managers include:

• Discussing the department's future goals and translating those goals into workforce needs (ie, skills required, number of workers and level of experience required).
• Determining ongoing compensation requirements (ie, competitive rates for new and existing positions that will be required).
• Creating strategic plans for recruitment (ie, finding appropriate schools, professional organizations and related companies from which to recruit the best potential employees).
• Creating strategic plans for retention and advancement (ie, the best paths for promotions within the department).
• Meeting separately with department managers and then together as a group would ensure the best approach to a holistic hr plan.
