(DNMT), one of the copies undergoes rearrangement where the template strand becomes the coding strand and eventually becomes a pseudogene (not functional). The pseudogene still shares high similarity with the active gene and still gets transcribed and transported into the nucleus.
a)  Give two reasons why one copy of the gene has become a pseudogene.
b) When overtranscribed, the gene leads to multiple cancer types. Explain how and why that would happen.
