As you have learned in this module, markets do not always work efficiently
As you have learned in this module, markets do not always work efficiently. There is often a trade off between efficiency and equity. While our economy has been growing, so has income inequality and poverty.

- After posting to the discussion, please be sure to comment on what you like about at least two other students’ posts.
Expert Solution
- Which family did you choose and why were you interested in them? Where are they from?
The family that I chose is the Lyckner family from Sweden because I have an interest in viking history and have found Sweden to be an interesting place.
- Tell us what you you have in common with them and what is very different.
We have similar standards of living although the products that they use and electrical features are quite different, the same principle stands. Another difference is the weather they have in Sweden.
- Did anything surprise you about what you learned? Why or why not?
No, not really. Though there are slight differences, we seem to be pretty similar.
- What is the Gini Coefficient (Gini Index) for their country? How does it compare to what you expected? And how does it compare to the USA's Gini Coefficient (Gini Index)?
The Gini Coefficient for Sweden is 28.8. It's a little lower than what I had expected it to be. I thought it would be a little closer to the U.S.A. at 41.4.
