Expert Solution
1) My preferred policy choice was the third one, the investment in value- added processing, I found this one to be very beneficial in the future. I really liked the fact that they want to reduce the amount of waste that could be produced. They said they want to be able to use leftover food for things like soups, jams, and even soap. By just having that idea it can go really far and can bring in more money.
2) The compiled group evaluations were mainly 3s and 4s with exceptions that are higher and lower. I agree with the compiled groups because a lot of my peers had the same mindset as I did, in the sense that people like the idea of being able to reduce waste. I understand why people had mixed feelings on this one since it will be expensive at first to buy the machinery/ commercial kitchen equipment, locations, and to manage the food and process it for the intended use.
3) After reviewing all the policy evaluations I still stay on the side I chose because I personally find it very useful and has the ability of cutting down a lot of waste that could easily be made into something else can make more money, Im not trying to say money is the motivator, but it helps stimulate the economy .
4) I think that the consumer education policy could be enacted in a local level since it would be easier to educate a community first before going really big. Being able to enact it in a few towns to test them out and see how it works and make changes if needed. The same goes with the first policy,by opening up a couple stores in different locations we can be able to gather dated and information as to see how it is working. Also the fact that it is very expensive it would not be smart to start opening up hundreds of locations.
