Design a daily food, rest and toileting information sheet that can be used to inform individual families in either a baby or toddler room
2) Design a procedure for each of the following areas of care practices.
• Be sure your procedures consider safety, hygiene and supporting the babies needs.
• For each procedure be sure to link it to the appropriate National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework outcomes, principles and/or practices
• Nappy Changing
• Preparing the sleep area for rest
• Bottle preparation- both formula and breast milk
3) Create a floor plan of a meal area for a babies and toddler room that can cater up to eight (8) children. Your floor plan must include
• Seating arrangements for toddlers and babies (high chairs as well as tables and chairs for the older children)
• Mark on the plan where educators will sit during meal times
4) Once you have completed your floor plan include a written summary (150-200 words) to explain
• How your meal area allows babies and toddlers to be fed individually
• How the area creates a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere
• Features in the area to ensure that hygiene practices can be maintained by educators while they are sitting with the children
5) Create a floor plan of a play area for babies that allow them the opportunity to practice and develop their emerging skills including:
• Opportunities and space to practices rolling over, sitting, crawling and walking
• Appropriate risk taking (climbing, jumping etc)
• Social and language development including opportunities for small group and one on one interactions with educators and children
• Sensory exploration (use of hands, mouth, touch to learn)
• Mark where educators should be positioned in the room to ensure maximum supervision and support for the babies and toddlers
• Areas for relaxation and quite play
