Task Overview: Students will be presented with a question or topic in international HRM to investigate. Students will be required to research and critically evaluate relevant literature to establish current knowledge, challenges or issues and/or emerging approaches/trends to a particular topic. Findings are to be presented via a 2800-3000 words (excluding references) literature review. Task Details: Notes: Please, be aware that this assignment is NOT about writing your personal opinion on why certain issues arise in EMNCs or how to tackle them. It IS about presenting your research findings on how scholars have theoretically approached these issues, how some companies may have already addressed them, or how managers are currently trying to tackle these issues. Length: 2,800 - 3,000 words (excluding cover page, abstract, and reference list) Individual report question: Previous research on MNCs had identified dual pressures for the need to conform to home country and host country institutional environments when adopting HRM strategies, policies, and practices. With reference to relevant IHRM theoretical and research material, critically analyse and address the following questions: • What challenges would MNCs from emerging markets (so-called emerging market multinational corporations: EMNCs) face when they transfer HRM practices across borders? How do EMNCs address these challenges?
